Lakevisor is a report portal that runs in your own Azure tenant and reads straight from your Fabric Warehouse or Lakehouse. Your viewers sign in with their work account. No Pro licence each.
FIG 01 · Illustrative portal with sample data. Not a client.
Pro at €12.10 (Microsoft Spain list). F64 at €5,378/mo reserved, West Europe. Lakevisor at the Professional plan plus about €20/mo Azure hosting. F64 bar clipped.
We rebuild what your semantic model does: the measures, the relationships, the business rules and the KPI definitions your teams already agree on. Each night a job applies that logic to your Warehouse or Lakehouse and publishes the results to a portal in your Azure. Viewers see the same numbers they see in Power BI today, and nobody needs a Pro licence just to read them.
A read-only script splits creators from viewers. You get the number in writing.
Viewer reports are rebuilt as interactive web pages. Your DAX measures and model rules are carried over to SQL.
Every figure is checked against the current report. Nobody switches until it matches.
Scheduled refresh, monitoring and small changes included in the plan.
Plans used: up to 100 viewers 390, up to 300 viewers 890, up to 1,000 viewers 1,490 per month (EUR, indicative). USD plans converted at 1.08 and rounded. Plus about 20 a month of Azure hosting.
Multiplexing does not reduce the number of licenses needed.
Microsoft Power BI licensing documentation. Lakevisor is built around this rule, not around a loophole.
The portal reads the Warehouse or Lakehouse, never the semantic model or any Power BI API. Every deployment ships with a signed lineage diagram.
Code, extract and portal live in your Azure subscription. Data does not pass through us, and if we part ways you keep everything.
Sign-in with Microsoft Entra ID. Row-level access follows the Entra groups you already manage.
A data processing agreement under article 28. Region and retention follow your own Azure policies.
Yes, as long as the portal does not serve Power BI content. Lakevisor reads the same source data your models read, so viewers never consume Power BI. You stay responsible for your licensing, and we document the lineage in writing.
No. Analysts keep Power BI and their licences. Lakevisor only serves people who read finished reports.
Nobody moves until every figure reconciles with the current report. If the pilot does not match, it costs you nothing.
Probably not. E5 already includes Pro, so there is nothing to save on licences, and the diagnosis will say so.
They sign in with their work account and open a web page. Filters and drill-downs behave as they expect.
Run one read-only script on your licence and activity inventory. You get a written report: who creates, who only reads, and what you would save. If the answer is that you should not switch, that is what it will say.
